Like most homeowners, Alan Farber had no expertise with remodeling when he hired a contractor to redo his kitchen. Everything seemed to go wrong, from the quality of the granite to the timetable to estimated costs. "Turned out it was below average, but I'd already paid him," Farber said. "I ended up having another guy come in and fix it and wasn't really happy with that either." .
CARLISLE, Pa. A Pennsylvania fugitive accused in his home state of trading money, liquor and drugs for sex with teenage boys has been arrested in eastern Arizona. Authorities say 56-year-old Clair Smith of Miller Township, Pennsylvania, had been told on October 15th that he would be charged the next day with more than 260 counts. Smith vanished, but was captured Saturday after police in Holbrook spotted his black S-U-V. Perry County's district attorney declines to say why police suspected Smith would be in Arizona. Pennsylvania state police say tour boys, ages 14 and 15, have said Smith repeatedly lured them to his mobile home with offers of money, cigarettes, alcohol and marijuana and then had sex with them. ___ Information from: The Sentinel, http://www.cumberlink.com Copyright 2006 Associated Press.

The center will include space for three basketball courts, a fitness center, spacious lobby, and a new band room. [Courtesy Image] By Elizabeth Hardin-Burrola Staff Writer REHOBOTH Ribbon cutting ceremonies, golden shovels, visiting dignitaries and guest speakers are all typical features of official groundbreaking ceremonies. And Rehoboth Christian School will be having one of those public events on the morning of Thursday, Nov. 2. But for the 15 men who have traveled from across the country to volunteer their services to the school, the real groundbreaking took place a couple of weeks ago. With the help of their labor, the ground at two sites on the school campus is now being broken, dug up, moved, replaced, compacted, and leveled.
October is Manufactured Housing Month in Mississippi, according to a recent press release from the Manufactured Housing Association in Flowood. The release went on to say that one out of every three Mississippi housing starts in the first six months of the year was a manufactured home. With so many manufactured homes sold in the state, there is no doubt the industry fills a need. But the volume of manufactured homes sold may help explain why so many people confuse them with modular construction. Emily Austill said she got a permit and financing for her modular home in Perkinston. But after the home was delivered and while finishing work was taking place, a neighbor protested her right to have the home, believing it to be manufactured. Austill said work has stopped on the home until the misunderstanding can be rectified.
