ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Channel 9's cameras were rolling Thursday while the Health Department discovered dozens of violations while inspecting just one mobile home park. The park, located near Orange Blossom Trail and Kaley, is one of 144 mobile home parks in Orange County that the Health Department regularly inspects. Thursday, a random check has the attention of several Orange County agencies. Eyewitness News' tour of The Palms was a real eye opener. Health inspectors said that no one should have to live surrounded by garbage, human waste, and rodents. It costs $125 a week for a roof over your head. It's not ideal, but for residents of The Palms trailer park, there's no other option. "When it rains, we got water coming through our air conditioner," said resident Ashley Mitchell.

BOSTON -- Kerry Healey's campaign is criticizing Deval Patrick for hiring a firm that lobbies for the Big Dig's project manager to host a fundraiser. The firm, O'Neill and Associates, also hosted a fundraiser for Healey in February. The Patrick fundraiser on Oct. 3 raised about $20,000. O'Neill and Associates was founded by former Lt. Gov. Tom O'Neill, son of the late House Speaker Tip O'Neill. The firm's clients include Big Dig project manager Bechtel/Parsons Brinckerhoff. A Bechtel spokesman said at the request of the candidate, no one from the company was invited to Patrick's fundraiser. Nonetheless, Healey's campaign manager said it's an example of Patrick claiming to be an outsider, but "following the insider playbook to a tee." .
The recently introduced Registered Agricultural Contractor scheme has been well received with over 20 Rural Contractors signing up for the process in the first three weeks. Southern Energy Homes Inc., a mobile home manufacturer, announced Tuesday that its shareholders have approved the acquisition of the company by Clayton Homes Inc. Terms of the deal call for Southern Energy shareholders to receive $8.50 in cash for each share held. Clayton Homes is owned by Berkshire Hathaway Inc., which acquired the Maryville, Tenn.-based company in 2003. Southern Energy Homes (Pink Sheets: SEHI) is based in Addison, Ala. .
